I put area rugs over the tile floors. Softens the room and softer on the feet. Also good to define separate spaces like dining room and living room which are in the same larger spaces. And we wear flip flops most of the time vs being barefoot.

Last year we slept at the hotel across the street because we thought DH's grandson would use the sleep sofa. DH's ex-wife was supposed to use the hotel room but she had a lot of knee issues last year (still does) so her daughters were worried about her being alone. The final night of their stay we slept on the sleep sofa (because the grandson ended up using a blow-up bed in the same room with his mother and sister). We were quite comfortable so decided to just do that all week this year since it is really easy to open and close this one. The ex-wife won't be here so the grandson can be in the room she used instead of sleeping on a blow-up mattress on the floor.
