118 - back to where my weight has been hovering the last few months.
The sisters arrived yesterday afternoon. We took them for an early meal at the clubhouse because they had been up since about 3 am.
Before they arrived we went looking for a hutch/china cabinet for the dining area. Apparently they are not very popular these days. Maybe I need more of a bar cabinet? I did see one that I liked the look of but it is the last one so I would have to decide quickly and I'm not sure I am ready to do that.
Today my marble countertops in the kitchen are being refinished. A guy came 2 days ago to put something on the stains that was supposed to lighten them. Didn't seem to make much difference but they really aren't that bad anyway. I am stuck at home most of the day while they do the work. Don't even know if I have time to take a shower before everyone else leaves for the day (DH to golf and SILs to the beach).
Tonight I have a book club get together. I am making a cute and easy appetizer I saw on FB - will take pictures if they come out well. I have to finish the book today. It is The Land of Milk and Honey and I have really disliked the book so finishing it is going to be painful. I don't like the story or any of the characters. And though the writer is talented I hate that all conversation is in italics instead in "quotes". Really hard for me to read it that way. It is set in the future which also doesn't help because I typically don't like reading futuristic stuff. Oh well... I have made it down to about the last hour in the book so I will make it to the end.
Need to get out early to get a Justice walk in before DH leaves. Have a wholesome Wednesday!

I guess I hadn't given much thought to the china cabinet in this era. It makes sense though, since china itself is no longer that popular. Our china cabinet was a wedding present, and I still like it a lot (we did paint it black though). It's where I keep all my nice glassware and china.
Good luck Liz ploughing through the last of a book you don't like. Do you know what book is next? Always looking for recommendations.
Folks it is cooold. Windchill temp is -9. I'm not sure if I am leaving the house today. The lovely truth is I don't have to unless I want to. The cold air is drying out my skin. There is not enough lotion in the world to deal with this arctic desert.
DH is watching House of Guinness. I've watched off and on, but it hasn't entirely grabbed me, but maybe if I watched more faithfully. Overall, DH watches many more shows than I do.
We are really dragging our feet on the Christms decorating. There was discussion at bedtime last night that we will tackle it this afternoon. I'll let you know if we actually get it done. I know we will be happy once the lights are twinkling. Which begs a question: Who is white lights and who is multicolor? Multicolor all the way for Christmas at our house. White lights are for patios etc.
My tree literally has both white lights and colored and it goes from one to the other repeatedly.

Liz since you are so good at giving new life to older pieces of furniture, try looking at furniture consignment stores or FB marketplace or NextDoor for China cabinets. Like armoires, they are not popular right now, but because of that you might find something secondhand that you can transform with a coat of paint.
