Loving caregiver to your Mom, all your children and to aging, toothless dogs. So sweet.

123.7. Down a smidge.

Had a lazy day most of the day. But got motivated this afternoon so DH and I took a hike. Lots of hills and steps which clocked 250 feet of elevation gained, 876 up and 784 down. Both are a good leg workout.

Also ground up meats for dogs, chicken and pork. One only has 2 teeth yet so we have to make ground meat for them.

Still need to prepare for Bible study on Thursday mort. I might go and help out in the garden tomorrow.

Made Mexican Shrimp ****tail for dinner! Very yummy! I loosely followed this recipe

Greetings all

Another overcast day here but the sun will likely visit later. DH is out running errands so I have my way with the tv. I do like news shows but DH is getting so cranky about national news that we have to limit it. Whatever.

Today's mission involves considerable time at the dentist. Hopefully they will seat the crown that did not get done last time because it did not fit. That and three fillings. This time I will go armed with a klonipin to keep anxiety in check. I just hate this stuff. In addition I will make a gallery run to take new stuff. I will also continue the house cleaning. My visitor may be a day later than expected as she is on an epic road trip. So be it.

Liz I am so glad you will visit Auschwitz. DD is right. It is important to preserve, remember and respect these places. Not easy but not everything is fun. A meaningful trip.

DD sounds ike a good time to visit the young family building a new house. Bet those kids are having a ball living in the trailer. What an adventure. And yes, significant gardening counts as a work out. Love your description of the Cabaret performance. Art matters.

We are still stunned by the flood events in Texas. Hoping new alarm systems result. Our area has tsunami sirens though I don't think they work. We are not in the tsunami zone - one negative about that ocean view house I looked at is that it is in the zone. There was an earthquake a few minutes ago to the south of here but minor. We did not feel it.

Time for me to get moving. Dog blankets and debris await.

I'm on my way to get my hair colored and cut, and catch up on what's happening in my nephew/nieces life. A lot right now, because they had their little cabin of a house torn down and having a proper house built in it's place. They have a lovely lot with deeded access to the lake across the street where they can put out a dock, so it makes sense they want to stay put. They are currently living in a 30foot camper trailer next to the building site with 2 boys, a cat, and a Labrador. I'm sure there will be a lot of stories.

Yesterday, instead of working out I decided to do some heavier gardening. It was a good work out with all the squatting and lifting because my quadriceps in particular are sore. Good, because they seem very weak when I get on the machine and move the pin to what weight I can lift.

Not sure what the plans will be when I get back from my haircut around 3pm. I was thinking about going crazy and buying some ingredients to make a new recipe.

I think if a person can tour places like Auschwitz, one should, to pay respects and be a witness. I would imagine it could be quite an emotional visit.

As I was typing the date I remembered it is the anniversary of my older brother's death 56 years ago. Such a long time!

So we are staying with DH's DS and DIL (how do I abbreviate darling step son - DSS?). It is government housing and the WiFi seems to have extra security as OH is Blocked! I have to use my cellular connection on my phone to type this.

I talked to SIL after we got here yesterday and she is doing much better! Fingers crossed that she can fly home within a couple of days.

Today we will take a walk, visit a museum, tour the US Embassy, and eat out at a Polish restaurant. Nice to soak in the surroundings!

Tomorrow we are taking a train to Krakow and will be touring Auschwitz. Like the end of Caberet, not necessarily pleasant to remember but very important.

Time to take a walk along the river. Have a terrific Tuesday!

The whole SS thing is weird but once it starts it is pretty religious. My DH gets paid the week before me because his birth day is the 8th and mine is the 16th.

Mondays are a different vibe and it matters less if you don't get enough sleep the night before!
