Fondant is indeed beautiful and icky! I feel likewise about marzipan...
60 degrees!!! When I left the house at 9:30am this morning, it was -1. But don't you all feel too sorry for me, because it got all the way up to 2 degrees by the time I got home at 12:30pm. I do say this with all seriousness though: it wasn't windy, so while it was very cold, I did not think I was going to die.
CC, those cookies are so pretty. But based on the reviews, also delicious! Now that's a trick, because sometimes flavor gets sacrificed on the altar of presentation (I'm looking at you fondant!).
Peps, sufficient sleep and during the holiday season. I'm thinking of all the teachers who are wrangling students today. My district's break starts once this school day is over.
Paula, when do you start your drive north?
Today's wildlife sightings out my window include one chubby rabbit. Probably fattened up feasting on my flowers all last season. Godspeed little rabbit, it's pretty cold today.
I spent $300 on groceries today. Good heavens. I told myself though, that would only be 2 meals out with the 5 of us (DH, DD, DS, and DGF) and this, combined with what I already have on hand will feed us for several days, guests on Christmas Eve, and my family on Christmas Day. Put that way, now I'm thinking I'm a pretty savvy shopper! In a minute, I'm going to go put together 2 pans of stuffed pasta shells, and put them in the freezer for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. DD is a vegetarian, so no matter what else is served like ham or turkey, I put out a pan of pasta shells so she will be sure to have an entree. Everyone else likes them too.
We are going to see the Broadway tour of the Wiz tomorrow. Some friends of ours have season tickets, and they are going to be out of town, so they offered them to us. Sweet! It's getting good reviews, so I'm happy to have these last minute plans.
Time to get into the kitchen and start the prebaking of celebratory dinners for next week.

Next time I make them, Peps, you're on my delivery list! I leave very early Tuesday morning...
121 even. Up, down, up down!
Went to water aerobics again today and got a Polar Bear club hat! So cute! Check it out on FB! Fun group of ladies!
DH and I will have a date night dinner out at a seafood place in ***** Gorda. We rarely go into Fort Myers proper but choose the surrounding towns of Cape Coral and ***** Gorda or just stay in North Fort Myers instead! Less traffic!
Weather here has been wonderful! Have I mentioned not being excited to return to WI cold?
Liz, funny pic of you and Justice and all the other dogs on FB! You have a house full of them! Enjoy your time up north.
CC, I didn't realize you were making the trip back to MI for Christmas. Hope you and Kirby have fun.
DD, brrrrrr. Sympathies on your cold weather but I know you are a trooper and will make the best of it!
Diane, hopefully no gallery duty over the Holidays, but maybe sales are good right now?
Peps, enjoy your Holiday with your Dad! This time with him is precious!
I cherish my leisurely mornings too. We head to WI Monday morning!
They looked delicious! If you need more reviews, I'll be a judge!
Fabulous reviews!

201.2 - Yay! Holiday eating is still a few days off... Admittedly, I have been focused on NOT eating too many extras this week. I think upping the workouts has helped a tiny bit, too. I am happy to be back in my comfort zone.
Sleep has been quite good this week. I was in bed for close to 9 hours last night! Not all asleep, but I'm guessing I got a good 8 hours!
Almost every morning has been approached with leisure, too. Yesterday was an up and at 'em day, but the other mornings have been pretty relaxed and low key. I have fully adapted to the slow morning routine and enjoy it very much. With age comes privilege!
Liz, enjoy the rain and warmer weather.
CC, your cookies look divine! I am sad I am not one of the recipients of the fruit of your new hobby! When do you leave for Michigan?
DD - I see your temps are back in the single digits and low teens again! Is there a lot of snow still on the ground, too?
Diane S. - Hope you are not getting torrential amounts of rain. Funny how our weather has been so opposite lately. I guess a couple hundred miles can make a huge difference!
Paula, when will you head back for Wisconsin? You're gonna have to bundle up!
Not much else today... Same old, same old.
