Definitely the right decision on the car. I can see why they wouldn't want in and out all day, but one out isn't going to impact anything. I hope the pizza was good after the snafu! I LOLed at the thought of Justice's indignation waiting for his meal!
CC, glad you finally got blue skies! It's hazy here right now, but I believe it is actually real clouds and not smoke. But a little hard to tell.
Peps, are you driving or flying to Minnesota?
Diane, you'll have to let us know how you feel about shorter hair. The good thing is if you find you don't care for it, all you have to do is let it grow and you're back to where you were.
Paula, good sales vibes at the art fair! Once you're there, are you tempted to go buy things from other vendors?
The baseball game was a lot of fun last night. We have the major league Twins over in Minneapolis, and this team, the St. Paul Saints is their AAA feeder team. Less expensive, smaller and easier to access stadium, and funny little games between innings where they recruit fans to do things like put on TRex costumes and do relay races. It was warm, but as the sun went down, the breeze was absolutely marvelous, and the almost full moon was very pretty.
No particular plans today. I'm trying to decide what to do about working out. My hip hurts quite a bit, but its not muscles being sore so much. It feels more like tendons. I think I'm going to do some gentle stretches and still go. I am having a lot of trouble with my left side in general, but it always feels better after I work out.
After that, some putzing around. It's going to be 92 and humid, so I guess its air conditioning inside. Not my favorite, but also, I'm really grateful for the option just the same.
117 after 1.5 pieces of pizza last night.
Mostly smooth trip to Florida yesterday though it was still a long day. Justice was as always a trooper. Poor DH had to carry the bag I brought stuffed to the gill - it weighed a lot. Looks like a Mary Poppins bag and I filled it as if it was LOL.
While we were on the way to the airport I got a txt from our handyman that the parking lot which was paved 2 weeks ago was still closed off. Our garage comes off that lot. We were told that the paving would take 2 days, so had to contact the property manager to find out what was up. We had 4 communications with them, 1 conversation and 2 emails saying that we could drive out but replace the tape blocking it and park outside of the lot, but then a voicemail from while we were flying that said we couldn't drive on it. We chose to stick with the majority of responses especially since we were aware that the paver's trucks had driven over it. The car is out of the garage and parked next door.
Glitch #2 was that the toilet in the main bath isn't working. I think our handyman needs to fix something. Glitch #3 was that I ended up locked outside of the condo while DH went to get the pizza. I went downstairs with him to take the car off the trickle charger and retie the tape at the entrance. I didn't bring my phone or keys. Went I went back up the door was locked. We have a key in a key safe but I wasn't sure of the code and couldn't even read the numbers because it was dark and I didn't have my glasses. So I took a walk while waiting. Justice wasn't thrilled because he was in the condo waiting for dinner.
Nice to be back though the weather forecast is iffy. Hard to know what it will be like as thunderstorms forecasted often don't seem to hit our area. Also weird to have it still be dark at 6 am. Sunrise in Massachusetts is 5:40, but it doesn't rise until 6:48 here.
Hopefully we can get a Justice walk in after the sun rises. I have a hair appointment at 9 am so we need to efficient with our time this morning. Tonight we are going to Happy Hour and dinner with friends.
Have a fiscal Friday!

Dad is definitely going to need his sleep to regroup in the future. And salty snacks sitting in a car for an extended period will definitely do that - you were brave to weigh right away!

Once I got used to have my hair long I like the ability to put it up in a clip or whatever to get it off my neck. It is a bit more difficult to dry but I mostly let it air dry now. I had short hair from about age 18 until 3 years ago.

Longest visit to BFF was 10 days. DH and I have visited twice in 30 some years. BFF would like us to snowbirds with her (well she did before the current situation. Now she will be here indefinitely, but not in our house, already discussed staying until October 1), but it's not really where we want to be. She has a nice home, but its over an hour to Mexico City, there's no beach, no pool, no easy access to theater etc. Nice restaurants though.
Oh, it felt good to sleep in my own bed! But.....
.....from the frying pan into the fire. Would you expect any different from me? I think not!
Woke up early, but stayed in bed because I still felt tired. So I dozed on and off from about 5:30 to 8:00 and then got up. I puttered about until about 10. Got a few things done. Cleaned up Ingrid the transported pup from Ohio, who was picked up around 11 am by her new owners. Sort of fun to introduce the people to their new dog and dog to her new people. Had time for a little something to eat and then had a client come at 1 pm.
After client dog was done, I went to visit my dad. He had had no nap today and his cognitive skills were quite low. I was taken aback when I saw him sitting on a couch in the common area because he looked old and vacant. He came around pretty quickly when I engaged him in conversation. That put me at ease. I asked him to show me his new apartment and we walked down to his rooms. We chatted a bit and then I walked him down to dinner. I will go back and visit again tomorrow.
I weighed this morning, though I was inclined not to do so! I spent three days eating snack food in the car and my legs were quite swollen yesterday. I was up 5 pounds!!!! I've peed a lot today, so I'm sure I will be back down a bit tomorrow. I will have to be a little more cautious with the salty snacks on the Minnesota trip!
It has been HOT here today - mid 90s.
Oh, I did forbid myself from going to the gym today so I could rest after all my dog and dad stuff. Probably a good thing. I'll pick it back up next week before I take off on Thursday for my next jaunt across the country!
Post a pic of your new haircut! I would love to see it! Using your slug wine bottle stopper for the first time tonight. We don't drink much alcohol anymore but I did use a dry Chardonnay in my mushroom risotto!
Greetings all
Today started foggy but full sun now. It is fairly warm and at the studio I was almost hot. So I got my hair seriously cut today. Guess my long hair days are over. just don't like dealing with it anymore. Whatever. After that I did the gym and then went to the studio. The usual suspects were there and I did some glazing. Came home hungry and I am enjoying some Fairlife milk.
Gallery duty tomorrow. I expect it will be pretty busy which is good. Less boring. It is amazing what people come in there and where they are from. All over the world.
So Paula that dinner looked fabulous. Good to spoil the kid (and self). But you need ice cream.
CC glad that screen is in. Sounds really needed. No trespassing insects, bats or javelinas please. Is the sky any clearer there?
Liz back in Florida by now. Wishing you clear skys.
So I have some chicken to cook tonight. Found a jar of Trader Joe's marsala sauce so I might add that. It's been years since I was actually in a Trader Joes so I must check the expiration date. If we had Trader Joes here my life would be complete.
DD I hope you get your spare room back soon. So do you ever go to BFF and stay a month like she does? Just wondering. Wishing you a big dose of domestic peace after a satisfying work out,
Peps any travel tales? (tails) LOL

This one is made in FL (MagnaTrack is the co) and rated for 75mph winds while down. It should be able to handle AZ downdrafts!
