CC and Liz, your meet up plans sound so fun!

I'm still deep into Brazil trip planning. So I think I have the beach thing figured out. Now I am working on a 5-6 day schedule of visiting mountain towns via coach bus. It will be an adventure!! As I'm looking at accommodationsI think about the vastness of Brazil and the huge differences in the landscapes between Northern ans Southern Brazil. The places I'm looking at in the mountains are called Pousadas which is are small inns or "resting places". I think in Portugal they are actually goverment run, but in Brazil they mean a small or smaller hotel/inn, privately owned. Many of them are little single room cabins. Very rustic, in the southern pines, but not what people would expect, I think, as Brazilian. They are popular in January and February as a way to escape the heat in the city if you're not going to the beach.

Doll's House is indeed a dark play. It was very well performed and I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't want all my theater experiences to be so heavy.

There is so much to do! Trip planning, decorating for Halloween, laundry, meal planning, repotting plants... I guess with the exception of laundry, I didn't do most of those things the last few years I was working. The houseplants were lucky they go****ered!

Weight is doing fine (well I wouldn't mind if the previous downward trend started up again), but eating enough protein continues to be a struggle. At the end of the day, I usually chug a glass of Fairlife milk to raise the protein amount without adding too many calories...

Wow, your niece has really been through it. I hope in another 5 years, she is still cancer free and all of these years are just a memory.

Update on my niece: She is having the implant removed this afternoon. From what I gather, this can be very involved surgery depending on the extent of the infection. It is her sixth surgery in slightly more than 2 years :(

LOL - I didn't pick up on why Paula knew I was confused about the day of the week yesterday until I went to start the new one today. I changed yesterday from Monday to Sunday :)

Good day yesterday visiting with friends at the winery and having dinner with other friends in my former town. Beautiful weather on top of that - high 70s with low humidity. Today seems to have more of the same weather. Tomorrow we return to muggy weather in Florida. After a very dry summer, they have had a ton of rain this fall. Golfing has been difficult there because the courses keep getting saturated.

My niece was admitted into the hospital following the birthday party on Saturday night. She has cellulitis and is on IV antibiotics. Apparently there is some risk that the breast implant may have to be removed. She was probably at increased risk of this because she did have a lot of lymph nodes removed during her mastectomy and had follow-up radiation later on that caused a lot of discomfort for quite while. She can't cut a break. Strange thinking that their 5 year old son has been living with his Mom undergoing all this treatment for most of his life.

Today we need to finish putting away the outdoor furniture, do some laundry, house cleaning, and a dump run. Later today we pick up a rental car to get to the airport tomorrow morning and meet SIL for a final meatloaf Monday before we return south.

Have a monstrous Monday!

Yeah, I wonder how long it takes tirzepatide to kick back in again when stopped for a few weeks? Will be interesting to hear.

Sorry the house thing is dragging on. Wouldn't it be nice if your buyers got a cash offer with a timely closing date?

We did go on the breakfast bus yesterday LOL. I just can't keep track of what day it is!

I didn't realize I could get USAA insurance based on my Dad's service. I have NO papers though as he died almost 60 years ago and my mother died 15 years ago. My moves since then have eliminated all the old papers.
