Dog show weekend is done... Overall good results, two group 4s, a group 2 and today a group 1. Buster earned 90 owner handled points this weekend. He has 4 more show days left before the end of the Owner Handled year (mid September to the next mid September). Would be nice to rack up a good number of points to keep the #2 dog at bay.
While at dinner tonight, feeling a bit tuckered out, I thought how civilized it is that I get to REST tomorrow instead of start a new school week. Such a fantastically liberating thought!!!!
Liz, your record keeping, list making, organizational ability is mind boggling to me. The fact that you can look at your calendar from years gone by to check something like when you flew to Florida to close on your house and how many weeks that was after your tummy tuck.... A -fugging-mazing!
Paula, how goes recovery?
DD, hope your last day in Scotland is even more wonderful than the days you've already had. BTW, I loved the Gates of Iona post you made on FB.
Diane S., I am curious to hear about how it goes with the Creami. I was gifted one by Auntie Kathryn. She won a brand new one in a raffle. She bequeathed me her original. I have not used it yet, so I'm looking forward to your report.
Oh... I bought THC/CBN gummies at the brand new dispensary that opened just across the street from the dog show grounds. With a new customer discount combined with the weekly Sunday discount, we got 25% off everything in the place. I am now well stocked with sleep aids for at least 6-8 weeks depending on how strong a dose I wish to take. Yee haw! Sounder sleep, hear I come!
Greetings all
Big sun today. I went to the gym and did my walking including the stairs. I am slowly resolving that I will never actually like any kind of exercise but can at least tolerate a minimal amount that is essential. I have sort of short stubby legs and my stride is short. Always has been. I read today that a mile is about 2000 steps. Not for me. 8/10 of a mile is about 3000 steps. Oh well, another thing to whine about.
So yesterday was a nice DH birthday. The lemon cake was excellent. Light and fluffy. We did not get the banana sorbet made. Tonight maybe. I indulged DH by watching The Gorge with him. Not as horrible as I expected - an action thriller with explosions and slimy zombie like creatures. Dinner was some taquitos that said "Beefy Taquitos" on the box. Got them home only to discover they are vegan! I feel so deceived. But they were not horrible. Quiche tonight. Our football team won big time and we watched more sci fi. So all is good.
Went to the studio and did some glazing. One of the cranky glass people was lurking about so I avoided that.
Liz so cool that DD and her husband are fixing up the place for holidays! That will be fun. Glad she is recovering well.
Keep on healing Paula.
The naked lady lilies are blooming big time. The harbinger of the end of summer. The sweet peas finally decided to bloom but they are underwhelming.

We fly out on September 21. Pretty close to what your time line was!
No weight as we stayed at DSD's home last night. Good thing as 3 (small) apple cider donuts were consumed.
Nice dinner with DD and DSIL last night. They are updating their kitchen, dining room and bathroom on a limited budget and making some good choices. What a difference already! They laid vinyl planking over linoleum, pulled down old paneling in the dining room, and painted the walls in all the rooms. New vanity and painting the bathtub. DD wants to host Christmas dinner at her house which is what is energizing the effort. She is a bit more than one week out from surgery so is just supervising but she looks really good.
This morning it is raining but the bus will leave for breakfast shortly. We are staying at DSD's home until mid-afternoon when we leave for the wake which is on our way back to the Cape house. Justice is staying here while we go to Maine for the next few days so we will swing back by here on Thursday to pick him up.
Enjoy your last day in Scotland DD!
Paula, when do you go house hunting in Florida? I just looked back in my calendar and we flew to Florida 3.5 weeks after my tummy-tuck to close on my previous Florida home.
Have a superb Sunday!

What a wonderful trip you have had! I am a bit Scottish, so that is interesting history to hear. I hope you are enjoying Edinburgh. Though it is definitely a city as I recall there were also some lovely green spaces. We went to a scotch tasting there. It was educational to learn how much the flavors differ and why but boy the stuff was strong! DH, my 2 SILs, and I went in 2018 and DH ended up drinking most of our groups samples. He was in a good mood LOL.

Happy Birthday to DH! Sounds like a perfect feast for him. And a perfect movie?!

Happy Birthday to Diane's DH. I hope he enjoys celebrating.
Paula I am so glad to hear your post surgery reports, and that your recovery is going well. May it continue just so.
Liz, you have busy days ahead. I'm looking forward to pictures from your lanai in Florida soon.
Peps, your Dad story was lovely. May we all still have joyful moments no matter how many years old we are.
We are on the last leg of out trip. We enjoyed our time in Oban, especially our tour, whi*****luded the Highland Cows. It was a small group tour, but ours was a really small group, just us!Which is really awesome, because I LOVE to ask questions on tours. We learned a lot. One thing we learned is a dark part of Scottish history. About 200 years ago, the landlords who owned much of the land discovered they could make a lot more money raising sheep than what was being generated by the people who were basically sharecropping. So these rich people basically deported Scottish subsistence farmers and put them on boats. Many of them died on the boats. The ones who survived settled in Canada and the US. If you have Scottish ancestors, this could be your family story.
Today we took the train back to Glasgow and had a nice time just poking around the shopping and dining district. Lots of people out. Scottish people are so polite and friendly. So many people asked us where we were from, and what we had seen so far, and offered recommendations about things to do. Just genuinely warm. That has been a really lovely part of the trip. The congeniality of the Scots and the breathtaking natural beauty have been my favorite parts of the trip, besides being with DD. We travel together very well, and I've enjoyed just soaking up the time with her.
Tomorrow we take an hour train to Edinburgh and tour the Edinburgh castle and go on the Hop On, Hop Off bus. Then Monday morning, it's off to the airport.
DH is visiting our DS this weekend, and sent me pictures of their bike ride. Looks like fun. I can't wait to see him Monday afternoon.
Greetings all
Overcast here. So it is DH birthday. I picked up a very small lemon cake from local bakery. Triple lemon. Very small and perfect. Last night I made the ice cream mix for the ninja creami to use today. It has to be mixed up and then frozen for 24 hours. In this case it is six ripe bananas mashed up with a potato masher. That is it! I added a drop of vanilla. There are other recipes with fair life milk and protein stuff but this is to start. It says you can so this with most any kind of fruit and has a sorbet setting. The mix will be ready at about 5. Meanwhile I also got some Mexican stuff as per request. We shall see. Football on tap for the afternoon. I will permit DH to watch an icky alien movie.
Yep Liz fall apples. Bet you have the best. We used to have this cool little orchard here you could visit but it is closed now. There is another one south of here that I think is still open. Fun.
Keep healing Paula. We all know you have a ton of water weight since they pump it into you. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
Ok DH has wanted to watch a creepy movie called The Gorge so we are going to watch that. Hurray for iPhone games.
