The day before surgery I was allowed the same as I had for my entire 2 week pre-op diet- up to 6 protein shakes, as much water, broth, diet snapple, crystal light, etc. as I wanted, up to 2 cups of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots a day, up to 30 calories of SF jello and SF popsicles. The key to the pre-op diet is low carb, that is what is responsible for shrinking your liver. Also not eating at midnight, or whatever designated time they give you to stop eating, so that it is safe for you to have surgery. Good luck!!!
