RNY Winnipeg Newbie

Hi All!

in 2008 I had lapband surgery in Toronto.  I was successful in some weight loss but I had lots of problems with the band and had it removed in 2012. Flash forward to now and weight gain plus is where I am at.

Last year I started the process for RNY at our Bariatrics program here in Winnipeg.  It's not a short process but it thorough and I'm thankful for that.  I was referred June 2020, accepted in September. I've had a scope and barium swallow since due to previous lapband and my concern that I often have food "stuck".  Anyone else had this with Lapband?   It's an awful feeling.  Had my orientation in Jan 2021, questionnaire completed and have my FIRST team meeting next week.  

i am sooooo nervous.   Meeting with the team of 4, virtually of course.   I've been tracking my food which I've discovered I don't eat enough, which is almost funny considering I am obese.

I don't know what goals they will have for me and I hope they are realistic for me to do.  I haven't told anyone but my husband because I am afraid of failure.   My support system is really just me so this is really my time to embrace this challenge and become a new and better me.

I am so glad that I found this forum and look forward to learning more and meeting new people.
