Hi Jannie! I saw your post in the message board and just finished reading some of your profile. First off, CONGRATS on your AWESOME weight loss!!! 170 lbs in 9 months is terrific!!! I also started near 370 (367 lbs) and am 7 months postop as of tomorrow but have lost "only" 116 lbs so I highly doubt I'll be at 170 lbs lost until about 1 year postop. As for the excess skin issue, I TOTALLY understand. Fortunately I'm married so don't have to worry about telling him (or showing him LOL), but I met my hubby online 7 years ago and in person 3 months after we'd met online. Similar to what you are going through now, I was soooo worried about meeting Alan in person and letting him see me for fear that he'd be turned away because of my weight. How I handled it was a week before he came out to meet me from CA (I was living in Queens, NY at the time - I'm originally from East Rockaway near Oceanside), I told him that I was very heavy and was completely honest with him with everything except my exact weight (I told him I was 270 or 280 when I was really 320 or 330 lbs - the reason I told him this is I looked more like 280 than 320/330 and most people who don't have weight problems don't have a clue what 300+ lbs looks like). Well, needless to say, my fears went unfounded. He was attracted to me before he knew whether I was thin or fat, and meeting me in person didn't change his opinion of me. And while he wasn't turned on by the fact that I was so heavy, in his words, he "didn't think anything of it - I was attracted to you for other reasons." To this day, my hubby shows nothing but love for me whether I be fat or thinner, and even with all the sagging skin. I know I am very lucky to have someone like him in my life, and I know from my experience with him that there ARE guys out there who can truly love us for who we are on the inside even though we aren't 100% perfect on the outside. If this guy in your life is truly the right person for you, he will love you with or without the excess skin, and he will accept you for who you are as a person both inside and out. Rg taking after photos, if you look at my profile, you'll see I have tons of them LOL. The reason I do this is because I find that this is the only way I can truly see all the weight I've lost. If anything, I realize that I am thinner than I think in my head or I see in the mirror. So hoping this helps and keep thinking positive! You are doing soooooo great!
