Hi, All. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. The humidity in Chicago finally skedaddled and the sky is blue - what more could a person want? Melinda Berry called me a little while ago and updated me on her condition. She had Lap RNY surgery on Tuesday 9/17 and today, unfortunately, is still in the hospital. She had a bad fever on Thursday and they discovered a collapsed lung. Now, she has developed pneumonia! Her leak test showed that the surgery went well. She is in good spirits and sounds good. The doctors are at sea about this lung thing as she is a very aerobic-oriented person and has had no previous pulmonary problems. They are being very thorough and caring and she feels optomistic. Her biggest problems, attitudinally, seem to be a lack of computer access (gotta have those E-MAILS!) and wanting a cold popsicle or protein drink. LOL Have fun everyone and enjoy this beeee-uuuuutiful day. Love, Carmen Cavello

She was in the room from 1 pm cst until 7:30. She is awake and the surgery went well. Please drop by her surgery page and send her a "Yippee!". Thanks
