Hi Elaine, I want to encourage to on your visit with your doc. I met with my new PCP on Monday Febuary 3rd. I told him my past situation and told him that I needed help and I wanted to consider having the Gastric Bypass sugery! I came in with my bmi printed out from this website and I had gotten on information on some surgical centers. I told Him that I had been reasearching Heavily and this is something that I wanted to do. Well being a new doc to me and a first time patient he told me it was a personall choice and to do my research and he would help me in what ever way he could. Today I recieved my letter for my Surgical Consult! SO I encourage you to be persistent. Write a letter if you need to and if you would like a copy of one i can give you mine, also this website has a sample letter and its where I got some of my infor from! You will live and be healthy and if you desire and God's will be done you will have this surgery! Cynthia Davis

Hi Elaine, I just read your post asking about Kaiser docs in the DC area. After being approved by Kaiser I was sent to Dr. Anez in Fairfax, Virginia. He's a great surgeon! Good luck on your journey and let me know if you need anymore information.
