Back in for another update. I spoke with Margaret this afternoon and she had her nasogastric tube removed. This was a great relief for her. She is hoping to go home tomorrow! She is doing wonderful and we are all so grateful for her progress and everyone's well wishes. Great job, Margaret! You have been a real inspiration! Theresa

Margaret, many good wishes and warm thoughts are being sent your way as you begin your journey to a new and healthy life! I am almost 5 months out and have lost 70 lbs., feel so much better, take so much less medication, and feel it was all worth it. The toughest part is the first 8 weeks, healing from the surgery and learning how to eat, once you pass that mark, you will feel terrific. Just remember, WALK, WALK, WALK, DRINK, DRINK, DRINK, and PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN!!

Angel coming back in for an update. I just spoke with Margaret's husband, James. He is being wonderfully supportive and they are sooo cute together. Margaret is doing great, she have walked full laps around the nurse's station 4 times already today and is visiting other WLS patients to encourage them. Wow, is she a trooper or what?!! You go Margaret, we are all proud of you! ((((HUGS)))) Theresa

Welcome to the losing side. We are a smaller group here the fellow DS'ers but I think the luckier group. May you have God's grace for you and your loved ones as you continue on this journey to better health. Too life....... Amanda<p>DS October 2001 (342 start/316 pre-op, 178 current)
