Hi, I saw your post on drinking an occassional beer. Before surgery, I was quite an avid beer drinker and was told not to drink beer or other carbonated beverages post op. Apparently, they will slowly stretch your pouch back out. So, I gave up beer completely and very rarely drink a soda. If, I do drink a soda it is a light colored soda like ginger ale or sprite, but no dark ones. The last thing that I want to do and I am sure you as well, want to do is stretch the pouch back out. So, it would be best not to drink beer. However, I do have to admit, one of my dear friends was drinking a nice cold beer one evening and offered it to me to taste. At first, I refused, but the temptation got the best of me :) Anyway, the cold was nice, but the bubbles in it just turned my stomach. So, I have had no more beer whatsoever and I don't miss it, which I thought would be hard. Well, good luck to you.
