Leslie, I was a size 26 (or squeezed into a 26) when I had the surgery on September 13 of this year. I only recently started wearing 24s. I feel the same as you. I have lost 80 pounds (pre surgury and post)and I am not even 2 sizes down yet. It is partly because our body hangs on to the belly weight and lets all the other fat go first. My feet are actually looking dainty! But that roll on my abdomen is hanging on. I am wearing a much smaller size top, except if it is a top that comes over my belly, it will be tight there. I really don't exercise, that would help, I know. Hang in there. I think you'll start seeing a dramatic drop.

Hi Leslie. Congratulations on your weight loss. I think you're doing a great job. Does your surgeon's office have an aftercare program? Have you had a consult with a nutritionist or dietition that has experience with weight loss surgery? The further out you are from your surgery, the more you should be able to have, within reason. You still have your basic rules you have to follow.Do you order a kid's meal?Leslie

Leslie, just read your post about insomnia. I had Open RNY on 8/15 and could not sleep for weeks. I never took any pain meds after leaving the hopsital and never napped. I could never go to sleep before 4am at night and used to wake about 9am/10am everyday. I posted and the response was "you have all this new energy". That was aload of crap. I have nervous energy and was just not tired. My only thought was that all the protein and no carbs attributed to the insomnia. I would take 10mg of Ambien (which worked wonders prior to surgey) and it would fail...Then, as soon as I hit 1 month post-op, I could sleep again. It was really weird. Good Luck!
