I just returned to Bismarck from a two day trip to Fargo to visit Sue K. who had her surgery on Friday. Sue is doing remarkably well and looks great. She started "eating" today at noon and I watched her take her first "bites" of creamed soup, milk and jello. Gas pains are getting to her, but other than that things look very well. She is up showering, walking, etc off and on and I believe she will be released on Wednesday. Thanks for the prayers. Now, pray for me! I'm hoping to get my surgery date tomorrow from the scheduler! Thanks again.

I called Sue today in the hospital in Fargo. She talked with me for quite some time. Her pain is being managed very well today. It took about 4 or 5 hours yesterday to get it under control following the surgery. She is on a morphine pump and was given some medication for nausea as she felt she would possibly throw up. She sounded like she was doing very well - in fact, she encouraged me to go ahead and go through with my surgery (ha! as if she could have stopped me!). She will probably be walking today with the nurses. She has been able to get up and go potty. This morning she had a 'beside-the-bed' bath and could brush her teeth. Her comment was "toothpaste has never tasted so good." And of course, she did not swallow any! She has two tubes coming out of her stomach. The nasal tube was removed last night and "there wasn't much to it." Thanks to all for your prayers for Sue and please continue to keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Sue in ND made it through surgery today after about two hours in the operation. She's in alot of pain, according to her husband. She had her appendix and gallbladder removed also. Please continue to keep Sue in your prayers.

Sue: I want you to know that I'm praying for you and your surgeon this week. I want you both to be calm and in good health for the best possible results. Also, I'm adding your aneasthesiologist to the prayer as I'm writing this. May God continue to be with you through this surgery and may you heal quickly and be on your way towards your good health and weight goal! Love and Peace to you, from Cindy

Sue: It is only one week now! Not long to go girl! I'll be putting an update on you on this board after your surgery so everyone can know how you are doing -- which I am sure will be just great! You are in my prayers and many others, I'm sure. Isn't it wonderful that we live in such an age where this type of surgery is available to us? Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
