Just re-read your profile again (love the detail) - Highsmith only has private rooms? I hope that's where Dr. Carter still does his surgery. I would MUCH prefer a private room. When I'm sick or hurt, I'm like a turtle, pulling into myself. Having a roommate would not be comfortable for me.

Gina, you're an inspiration! Dr. Carter will be doing my surgery soon and it's wonderful to read of his successes. You should be so very, very proud. Congratulations on each of those 97 pounds!!!!

SURPRISE SURPRISE!!! Gina just called me---FROM HOME!! Her Dr came in to her room and asked her if she wanted to go home today!! I can't believe it--she is doing so well!! I'm soooo very proud of her!! I guess the next post will be when Gina is able to get on the computer and update her profile from surgery scheduled to "POST-OP"!! Take it slow girl--we all love you!!

OKAY--just now got off the phone with Gina. She's doing great other than "feel like I have been hit by a Mack truck." Actually it's her back that's bothering her--from laying flat--she's not used to sleeping on her back and she can't turn to her sides yet. She has been up walking--got her bladder cath out. She's in great spirts. I'm so proud of you Gina.And to imagine this all started on our trip to MI last Sept. when I told you all about what I was up to!! Just remember that pic we're going to take!! Love ya

Gina, So happy to hear you made it through your surgery okay. I remember my back hurt me terrible, because of laying in one spot for so long. I promise it will get better. Welcome to the other side. Jeanie

Just now got off the phone with Gina's Robert--Gina is doing good. Her back is bothering her a bit. The nurse's get her up about every 4 hrs to walk. She had her leak test this morning and that came out good, so her Dr ordered some jello, broth etc for her. They had given her some Ensure (or something like that) and she said it was too sweet. She was moved out of ICU and into her private room. I'll be calling her in the morning. It's 945pm there right now so in the am will be better. Till later
