I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

Hi Cathy, I am also 2 months post op and still feel like I wouldn't recommend this surgery to anyone. I am hoping that eventually I will feel like most of the people on this site and be able to say it is the best thing I have ever done. Frankly, I have a stomach ache almost every single day. I eat right, drink fluids, chew and take small bites but I still have this ache in my stomach-chest area. My surgeon thought it might be a stricture but wants to wait a little while to see. Since I am not throwing up all the time, he said it is better to wait so things have a lesser chance of tearing. I also have terrible problems with constipation no matter what I seem to try. Last night I tried taking two metamucils and ended up throwing up so hard that I am home from work today because I am so sore. I find the strictness of when I am supposed to eat and drink very difficult to adjust to when I am working. I can't just stop and eat whenever I need to. Also, I am at the stage where I am supposed to be able to try new things which is good, except that nothing I try ever seems to sit very well or at least it seems that way because I have a chronic ache. I haven't posted anything about this because it seems like everyone does so well and then it sounds like I am complaining and no one likes that. Everyone is so positive and I don't want to bring them down. However, I do feel that people need to know that this can be extremely difficult. I researched this for two years before I decided to do it and it was rare to find people who weren't raving about it. Anyway, I do love reading the posts on here and I, for one, am not going to lose hope that things will get better. I understand that will not reverse this unless it becomes life threatening. Good luck to you and know that you are not alone. Melody lap rny 7/22/03 p.o. 238/surgery day 224/190/135

Cathy, I read your post about regretting your decision to have this surgery. I totally can understand. I had my surgery on 08/12/03. I am only just now beginning to feel normal again and I can't imagine what it would be like if I had truly had complications like so many people have. I have cried many a tear and wondered why on earth I did this to myself but as each passing day, I am getting stronger and am finding new foods that I can tolerate quite well. I miss having my "comfort foods" but I think that will pass. All I really have to offer you is a great big HUG and my prayers. I hope things get better for you. Jane.

Cathy...I can so idetify with you banishing your girls tot he other room. I havent had my surgery yet..have a consult appt on the 30th. and have done all the tests, been approved by ins, etc. Now just waiting on a date. I have 3 girls...2 live at home..20 and 21..They dont mean to be making it hard for me..but they dont realize how hard it is to have them eating all those things you cant have. I have to lose 30 pounds before they will do the surgery and I have 15 down...and seem to be at a standstill for the moment. But just wanted to say I totally understand how difficult it is with young women in the house..:) Take care!!
