ATTENTION EVERYONE Hey all, just wanted to update! I just got off of the phone with Teresa. She said that she's feeling pretty groggy, but is doing well. (I didn't even recognize her voice she sounded so out of it.) Teresa said her surgeon told her that he wasn't able to get an NG tube down her, so she didn't have one. (He said it's generally used to prevent nausea.) Anyway, last night, Teresa stopped breathing twice in her sleep, so they had to hook her up to a cpap machine last night. Tonight will be here first full night with it. HOpefully, it will be more restful for her. She said that she's still using the morphine pump, and they plan on discontinuing this tomorrow morning. (She's digging the pump though. LOL) She's also stressing out about her husband. Apparently, he's hurt his knee pretty bad, and is requiring surgery. Teresa's wondering how her recoop, and his surgery will all work out. She asked me to request a prayer for her and her family as she resumes her new life, and for her hubby's leg. Anyway, all, I just wanted to send out an update on her. If you would, please keep her and her family in your prayers!

This is Sue. Teresa's husband just called and said that she came through the surgery just fine. He stated she was a little groggy, and a little grumpy, but doing well! She'll be in ICU for 24 hours, and then moved to her regular room. I will be seeing her on Thursday, so I will post as the information comes along. Thank you to those of you that kept her in your prayers! Love, Sue

Hello Teresa, Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I bet you are a bundle of nerves right now! I know I was! My VBG surgery was on 4/12/01. In 5 weeks I have lost 30 ugly pounds! It is so hard to believe that I will finally win this war with my weight! Just by droping 30lbs makes a big difference on your whole life. My clothes are getting smaller, I am feeling better about myself more confidence too! Can't wait to see what I feel and look like at 50 and 100lbs gone. You are going to be so happy that you did this! It took me awhile to say that, but now I wouldn't change a thing! Please keep me updated about your sucess.. And did you know that there is a VBG support group on www.onelist.com the group name is vbg. It only has people with this surgery on it.. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Teresa, I had my surgery at Winona on 5/8/01. It went pretty well. The person before me had an emergency, but they put me to sleep and I would have never known unless my sister-in-law had told me. I did vomit quiet a bit when I awoke from surgery. Of course, the pain was there, but the staff was very good about giving pain medication on schedule--without you having to ask for it. I hope and pray that your surgery goes well. P.S. I did gain 2 pounds the day after surgery. It was due to the IV fluids. The 3rd day I started losing weight. I have been home 24 hours. Everything has been good pretty well.
