My name is David, and I am Christine's husband. Thank you for the kind words on Christine's surgery page. I wanted to let everyone know that her surgery went well yesterday. We arrived at the hospital at midnight on Sunday, but her surgery wasn't until 12:15 the next day. She was in surgery until around 1:45. The surgeon came up and told me that everything went well, they were able to do it laparoscopically and she was resting "comfortably" in recovery. She was in recovery until 3:30. I expected this because she has had a problem waking up from anesthesia in the past. I waited in her room until they brought her up. The nurses asked her about her pain when they brought her up and she said it was a 9 out of 10. They then hooked up her patient-controlled pain meds. An hour later, she said it was a 7, and earlier today she said it was a 4. Looks like things are improving. She slept most of the evening. She only woke up when they came to take her blood pressure and temperature. Her temp was slightly elevated, due to the anesthesia, and her kidneys are working fine. They started her on liquids today and got her up and walking. All signs point to her being released on Thursday.

Hi Christine! Congrats on your surgery tomorrow! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful, problem-free surgery and recovery. I'm so happy for you. Soon you will be on the other side and will join the ranks of the losers. Wishing you much success in your weight-loss journey. Hugs to you today. God bless, DI from NJ

Hi Christine, I'd say don't be nervous, but heck, I was! Of course it was all for nothing (except I probably burned a few more calories) because my surgery went fine. I always say the week before surgery was harder than the week after (it was for me anyway). Keep it positive and and that includes having ONLY supportive people around you. You've made a wonderful and couragous decision to improve your health (of course in retrospect it seems like a "no brainer" to me now). Be proud of yourself; take care of yourself and I hope all your health and weight-loss dreams come true......

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you a speedy recovery and a welcome to the losing side Christine!!!
