Dottie, the one thing you can count on in life is that you can't count on much. We have our ups and our downs, but no one of them makes us a success or a failure. You are not a failure, you have just hit a bump in the road. Maybe it's a big bump, but that just means that when you're over it, things will be even smoother. Good luck to you, and hang in there with your friends here!

Dottie- You are not a failure! Oh how I wish I had your weightloss! That's fantastic! (I'm pre-op still). You have to focus on yourself, and keep up the great work you've done! No matter what else happens, you need to be No. 1! I pray things will get better for you. I pray for everyone on this site! God Bless you. (((Hugs)))

Hang in there Dottie, Just wanted you to know that I will keep you in my prayers. Just remember..."this too will pass". Things will get better and you will be stronger because of the hard times that you endure. I think that 86 lbs in 7mos is great! You look fabulous! I pray that God will strengthen you and give you a special blessing to carry you through. God Bless! ((hugs)) Cj

Dottie - I'm so sorry you're going through so much right now, but please, don't beat yourself up about everything. I totally get where you're coming from - between really tight finances, shaky employment future and cravings that aren't supposed to be there (after all, isn't that why we had this surgery????), life just seems to be constantly on the cusp of utter disaster. But, take a deep breath, relax, because there's nothing you can do about what has been done. Look forward, make plans (that's how we got through the nightmare waiting period before surgery, right?) and make sure you carry out each of those plans. For example, 1) Protein first - no snacking (for a week perhaps - set a time limit, you'll find that helps), 2) Sit hubby down and have a deep, knock-em-out, get-to-the-grit discussion and work at that until things are where you want them (or where you figure you can deal with them), 3) Plan to find a better job, for a bigger and brighter company! One that has a great pay and benefit package. Remember, we're here for you to vent to - I just hope you can use any of the advice you're going to be getting. Best wishes and great big hugs, from your AMOS sister, Deana.

Bless your heart, Dottie. I wish only the best for you, and hope that you find peace in your life. You have done such a great job with the WLS, be very proud of your courage and determination to beat your health demons. I would encourage you to find a therapist or counselor to talk to. Contact your county or state mental health facility, as they can refer you to someone who charges little or no fee. Be strong and you will find your way through this. Sending you long distance love & hugs.

Dottie - it sounds like basal cell carcinoma as opposed to melanoma. Bcc is very easily handled and is not life-threatening. Find out the specific name of the type of skin cancer (basal cell, squamous cell, or melanoma) and I'll be happy to give you what information I have! Hugs. I know the word "cancer" is scary but happily, I feel sure you're going to be fine.

Dottie, please know that I will keep you in my prayers. I will keep your name lifted up that this is the last that you will hear of the cancer. That when they remove the rest that will be all to it. I will pray for your inner peace and strength so that you will be able to wait until you have the results back that everything is alright. Blessings to you.
