Hi Deirdre! I just found this website a couple of days ago from an online friend that just recently had WLS. I went to the calendar - and was surprised to see a fellow Garlander scheduled for surgery just the past week. I hope all is going well for you. I am scheduled to attend the Dr. Barzune seminar on 9/8. My firm is behind me on having this surgery done (fingers crossed that my insurance will approve)because I am now so hampered by my weight and co-morbids that I almost can't practice. And all this at not yet 40! I especially sympathize with the edema in legs and feet - mine is horrible and disfiguring. Hopefully in both our cases it will go away as the weigh goes down. Again, best wishes and please keep us updated on here on your progess. &:-)) Paul

Just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery! I'm from Lake Charles, LA & felt like you needed everyone's support right now. Take good care of yourself! Hope to meet you one day to be able to appreciate seeing less of you! [email protected] aka Lisa

I spent about 6 hours with Deirdre on Thursday night and finally left the hospital around 2am. She was sleeping a lot more peacefully than before. I have not been able to get a hold of her since she went home on Friday. I have called her house repeatedly and her cell number but there is no answer. I called the hospital twice to see if she had been re-admitted. I am getting concerned so I am going to go over to her house in a little while. Her mom and Jaime are there to take care of her but I cant get a hold of anyone yet!! I will post an update soon. Greg Tx

Deirdre was doing well this morning, when I stepped in (couldn't stay because I have a little sore throat). She was sleeping like a little baby, and she said she was doing ok. Thank you Greg for being there for her!!! Jamie

Hello everyone. I just spent the last 9 hours with Deirdre in the hospital. We went for 3 walks and she is doing well although she is in a lot of pain. She held my hand as she slept. This was very meaningful to me. Her mother came in from California and it was a touching reunion as she has been gone for a month. Will update soon. GregTx
