OH POOR ROBERT. THAT'S JUST WRONG TO DO TO HIM. I NEVER HEARD ANYONE HAVING TO SHARE WITH A NON BYPASS PATIENT BEFORE. WELL WHEN HE COMES HOME HE WILL BE ABLE TO BRAG THAT HE HAD TO PUT UP WITH THAT AND MADE IT ANYWAY. SENDING ALL MY BEST TO HIM AND HERES TO A VERY SPEEDY AND MORE COMFORTALBE FEELING FOR HIM. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE UPDATE. HUGS, JODI

Wow it's been a long day! Robert's surgery was scheduled for noon today, but things didn't get rolling till about 1:30. At 3:40 Dr. Nichols came in to tell me that everything went well and according to plan. Robert handled everything incredibly well considering that he absolutely hates hospitals! We were in his room by 5pm and he already had two laps around the floor by 8! He is a little uncomfortable and sleepy, but he is strong! My only complaint at the moment is that Robert is sharing his room with a non-bariatric patient. Maybe not a big deal... but I just thought it was difficult to just be wheeled in from the operating room and have his roommate served dinner about 30 minutes later. He hasn't had solid food in two days... and even talking about food is bothersome. I can't imagine how it felt for him to have the whole room smell of meatloaf! I am glad tho that the surgery is done, that things went well, and to start the next stage! I will back at the hospital early in the am and keep everyone posted on Robert's progress.
