Hi Kathy, I am so sorry to hear that all is going wrong for you with that doctor. I pray that the Lord blesses your life and surrounds you with a lot of caring angels around you. I also ask God to abundantly bless your situations and life's negative things and turns them all into positive things. Please don't be down and remember that God is on your side and will help you, as long as you want to be helped. I was 485 pounds before surgery on 08/25/2003. My weight has bothered me and has burdened my life forever. I decided to have an Open Roux-En-Y surgery with Dr. Schreiber at St. Vincent's Charity Hospital and am so happy that I have had the surgery. I have such a positive outlook on my life and I am just staying motivated and following the doctor's orders and following my post op procedures and trying to take in my daily liquid proteins and other drinks, too. I am only taking in about 500 calories a day now. Before surgery I could take in probably 5,000 to 7,000 calories a day. It is sickening just thinking about how much I ate. I look back and still can't believe it. Now, I don't have the urge to eat and I don't have to revolve my life around food any longer. This surgery sure has blessed my life and has done wonders for others that have had it, too. Back in 1999 I had an upper respiratory infection just like you that turned into a major pneumonia. I was hospitalized for a month and had to have a major lung surgery. I got through it with God's help and am happy that everything worked out for the best. The lung specialist "Pulmnologist" at the hospital was concerned about my breathing after surgery and said that I was a risk. I think this is why your doctor is saying the same thing to you and is being negative about the situation. Don't let it get you down. Once your infection goes away you won't be a big risk for the surgery any longer. Just have patience and try to stay positive and I am so sorry to hear that all of this going on with your life. I pray right now for you: "Dear Lord, I ask that you bless Kathy right now. She is in need, because she has major health problems presently. I lift these problems up to You Lord, and ask that you solve these health problems and let Kathy have a gastric bypass surgery if it is Your will for her life. Please bring Kathy peace and happiness in her life and let her know that you care about her and will bless her life in Your Own suttle ways. Please rebuke all negative things out of her life and out of this prayer, in Jesus's name I pray, Amen! Everything will go great for you in God's timing. Just remember to stay patient and take away all of the negative's out of your life and turn them into positive's. Hang in there Kathy and feel free to e-mail me anytime at [email protected], if you are down and need a friend. Take care, and try to have a good day and remember that things are going to get better for you. Sincerely Losing Pounds, Brian G. Hurley

Kathy-I can so relate to everything you said in your post. I am 45 and never had a real weight problem until after I became pregnant with my son 20 years ago. I also quit smoking then. It was the first time I weighed over 200. Couldn't seem to lose the weight and 14 months later gave birth to my daughter. Every year the weight would go up a little. Several times I took major steps to lose weight. Optifast-6 months without eating any food and phen-fen. Immediately regained with Optifast and slowly regained after phen-fen. I was tired of being tired. Didn't want to be boring. Wanted to do things with my kids and husband. It is depressing. I made the leap on May 12 and so happy that I am now losing. My only regret is that I didn't do it 10 years ago when I first thought about it. Good luck to you in your journey! Lynda ME/FL

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs~*~
