Hi Karen: I am sheryl in NM. I am 8 months out and have only lost 100 lbs and cant seem to loose anymore. I have gone on no carbs and all protien and it still does not seem to help. I get atleast 80 to 90 grams of protien, 80+ water and crystal light, and get atleast 20 min of exercise every day. I started at 453 and now weigh 353.Please give me some encouragement hear. I would say just keep doing what you are doing and it shouldstart back to comming off. You could try exercising more or getting more protien or both. that is what I have been told. Please feel free to write me at [email protected]. Sheryl Open Rny July 22, 2002 516/453/353/160

Hi Karen: I am sheryl in NM. I am just 10 weeks post op and I can eat some bread once in a great while with no problem this week. I only eat things like this once in a great while. I have only eaten 2 bread items in the last 10 weeks. I have never throughn up or had nasua though. I am now eating salads, mexican food, and fresh fruit. I have lost 75 lbs in just 10 weeks.I stick with protien first then veg, then fruit and then carbs. I have been eating more then most but I am still loosing extreamly fast. I have gone down from 453 to 378 sofar. I hope this helps.

Dear Karen........I'm sorry about your rough start to postop life. It gets better slowly but surely. The thing that helps me the most is those Good Humor sugar free popsicles. They are only 15 calories and come in grape/orange/cherry flavors. I can put away 2-4 at a sitting depending on how head hungry I am. On the chicken getting stuck, I still have problems with foods doing that to me and I'm 2 1/2 months out. I hate barfing up food which is what I do when it becomes painful to stay down. It wears me out physically and makes me depressed. So to give myself a break I started bringing babyfood to work. It always goes down easy and never comes back up. Add a little salt and it doesn't taste bad at all. The meats are good with some salt and are 8 gms of protein. Never mind buying the lamb though YUK! The most important part of getting babyfood is that it saves me a great deal of emotional stress from not hurting and then barfing. I only know one lady who's against us eating babyfood cause it doesn't have the nutritional value we need, like anything does? We got vitamins. Anyway I wanted to pass that along for when you go to work you won't have to endure the stress of lots of chewing and asking yourself, will this go down well and stay down? At home I do the chewing thing cause I dont have the time crunch like at work. Best wishes and take care. :)
