Went to Gulf Shores on Sunday Sept 29 and came back on Friday. Stayed at the Legacy condos in unit 703. It was
Rented thru VRBO, don't ever do that, look up property and rent directly they charged me a 102 Service Fee.
We ate at Shrimp Basked in Evergreen, wanted to eat at the shack, however, it was closed on Sunday, I got the fish tacos which were so-so. That evening we ate at Steamers, got the boiled shrimp again so-so. The way to save money is to just get healthy frozen meals and not eat out, also, bring your own bottle of Vodka. One night went to Docs and must admit the fried shrimp was very good. Met Aunt Patsy and Uncle Wayne on Wednesday night and ate at Playa's, got the shrimp and grits, which was terrible, however, the white wine sangria was very tasty. Aunt Patsy said that Bill is now managing the food for an assisted living place and is home every weekend. Amy has been promoted in accouting at LuLus and does the office procurement for all 3 locations. Nicholas is working for Edward Jones at Port St. Joe in Florida. Ate lunch at Southern Grind one day, the salads are very good. One day met Wayne Anders? he went to Holt, graduated in 1979. He used to be in IT, now a real estate agent with Robert Brothers. He owns the end condo at Gulf Village, also has a house in Elberta. On Thursday we went riding around and went to Hillcrest Farms, met one of the owners there, he goes to Costa Rica 3 months out of the year, he used to work in Costa Rica and met his wife there. He came to Elberta because his mothers health was failing. Went to Lillian and visited a store called black eyed susan, kinda of boutiquee, which means very expensive. The lady who worked there said she used to work at the Pier 33 store for 37 years and did not get one penny from the oil spill. Pier 33 closed down for a couple of years. She used to own a lot in Orange Beach that she purchased in the 70's, she had a trailer on it and her property taxes were 25/year, also she had a well and a septic tank. When Orange Beach became a city it was required for everyone to get on public water and sewer. She had built a house by that time, she finally had to leave when her property taxes reached 3900/year. On way home stopped by Preisters Pecans, got a bag of Praline pecans.
The weather was beautiful, we lounged on the beach most days. I read book to set a watchman by Harper Lee and also listened to Rick Steves podcasts.
When we got home friday, ate at Tortillas for Dinner, ate the vegetarian fahita. Next time need to order the Pineapple Margaritas, maybe get a pitcher.
Saturday night ate at Olive Garden and used our gift card. The shrimp Fritta spicy appetizer was the best.

Eddie Snider, which is Austen Marengo's grandfather, is grinding stumps today. He used to own a dairy in McCalla, and leased the land that we live own. He said that Republic steel used to own all this property and he wanted to buy in the 1970's for $300/acre, someone beat him at $600/acre. Austin's dad, Eddie's son was killed in Hueytown near Roper's climbing a dead tree, he fell 60 feet to his death, this was in February 2017. Mr. Snider worked at Cahaba tractor for years. He owned some video rental places before going to work at Cahaba tractor and before that owned a dairy farm. He owned all the property where tannehilll preserve is now, he sold property to Buckelew.

Last week (Friday/Sat) went to Warrior, visited Warrior Flea Mall and then we ate at CampbellField restaurant. After that we headed to Cullman where we visited the Cullman museum. The museum was a replica of Mr. Cullman's home, Drew was working and was very helpful and informative. We then went to a store called Werner's that has all kinds of cool stuff. Since we were so close to Huntsville, visited Matthew and Angel. Took them out to eat at Pieology at the Bridge Street Mall. Went to walmart to buy sheets and pillows, and we stayed the night on the sofa bed. Dale helped change out the oxygen sensor on Angel's car.

Last Thursday updated our will at Wayne Randall's office. When leaving very stormy Dale worked thru the night both Thursday and 24 hours on Friday. I watched some Netflix movies, one was "Made to be broken", it was about a man who ran the AT in 46 days, the other one was Pedal the World, and the final one was Expedition Happiness, it had the same guy in it who was in Pedal the World, this was a much better documentary.

Dale is struggling with a kidney stone or something related. We still went to the Shakesphere Festival and saw Much Ado about Nothing. We ate in an area called Cloverdale in Montgomery at the Vintage Cafe. I had the Cloverdale Sandwich, which was whipped Goat cheese, thinly sliced pears, walnuts, and a local honey on sourdough toast. It was very good. We went thinking we were going to eat at Filet and Vine, however, we saw the little cafe across the street and decided to try it. The same owners of the cafe own a restaurant across the street that requires reservations. The entire area was one of the first developed in Montgomery. There are historic homes all around, and a beautiful First United Methodist church in front of Cloverdale park.

Not doing too great with my eating...Still working on running 1 mile without stopping.
At Furniture store today..Old woman and little 3 year old girl come in. We keep referencing old woman as girls grandmother. Old woman gets indignant and says that she is not the grandmother, Barbara asks if she is the mother and she says no, that she is not related to girl at all. She just took baby from a friends daughter in hospital. DHR had taken the woman's 4 other children. The old woman purchases lamps, I am taking the lamp bases out, Barbara has the Lamp shades, and the old woman is holding the little girls hand. While putting the lamps in the trunk, the little girl breakes free of her guardian and begins to run, losing her shoes in the process. I thought I was going to see a child get run over, my heart was racing. They finally caught her.
Barbara asked me to do a layaway policy writeup. Did not like the use of the word explicit.
Diane L. called, seems her client has made same offer to another seller, Carole called her yesterday, saying that buyer wanted her house, if sellers would pay all closing and throw in the paddle boat and some furniture. Jeff Corben at Homebridge doing the loan. Diane told me of some the issues she had with Linda and RS. Flat fee problem, problems with HSL. Linda fired her and Stephanie after Ty D. told them that they had nothing to worry about. They have gone to KW 3 years ago, Kim Cato also left to go to KW. Stephanie working with Global out of Tuscaloosa. KW was split 95/5 and after cap get 100%, they capped after 5 months. KW has a sponser program for people you recruit.
