Melissa, I am so sorry about your friend's passing, but do not be too hard on yourself. TWELVE pounds is TWELVE pounds!!! Congratulations on crossing over to the other side and please do not beat yourself up with survivor's guilt. There is a higher power that holds all things in His hands and although I know from personal experience that it is hard to accept sometimes, everything happens for a reason and according to His plan. The weight loss you have deemed as slow might be a condition of the emotional state you are in also. Give yourself some time to heal, this surgery will continue to work WITH you. I am glad your surgery was complication free and I wish you a very speedy recovery. Take care of you and stay on the path to better health! Hugs,
