A New Year and a new Tanya!!! Don't be nervous. When it gets rough keep your eye on the prize--a healthier you! How exciting to think you may be having life changing surgery as I type! I am a few months behind you but pulling for you all the way! I'm anxiously waiting to hear about your progress. How neat to do this at the turn of the year. Blessings, Robin

Congrats on your up coming surgery. Keep up with the posts and let us know how you are doing. Remember you are a teacher to others on this site as you journey to you goal. With every person you have contact you, there are 10 others you have helped along their journey. Once again congrats.

I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

Hello Tanya - Woooohoooo, <b>Congratulations</b> it's finally a "reality" and your day is right around the corner! This is a second chance to LIVE life again. No words can express the freedom that comes with this surgery. (I had my WLS 11 months ago, 177 lbs gone, 30 more to goal!!) My humble advice? Walk as much as possible after surgery. It'll be tough at times and you'll find that you'd much rather cuddle with your pillow then get out of bed. Don't!! Get up and walk, walk and walk it'll help with the overall surgery and recovery results. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, <u>YOU are worth it.</u> Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water. It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, <b>CELEBRATE</b> all the special moments along the way, big or small. Too many people focus only on <i>numbers</i>, ie. pounds lost. There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace on this journey - don't let any of them slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!! <i>"To grow, you must be willing to let your present and future be totally <u>unlike</u> your past. Your history is not your destiny." -- Alan Cohen </i> ....Hugs and smiles : )
