I spoke with Weslyn's mom this morning as the patient was sleeping soundly. Her swallow test went well yesterday, no leaks! However today she is experiencing major nausea! When they attempted to bring her breakfast this morning, just taking the lid off the grits made her nauseas. I told her mom that this sometimes happens to alot of people but that it should ease up. She probably will be in the hospital one more day since she is still not able to eat. She is now on Phenegren for the nausea which knocks her out! I'm sure she'll be fine! But if anyone wants to go see her before the support group meeting tonight, she will more than likely still be there. Remember she is in room 262. I plan on calling later this afternoon to get another update! Lisa Engelkins

Well sorry I didn't post last night after my visit with Weslyn! I did go see her at the hospital lastnight after work. She was awake and just a talking! The nurse came in to take her vitals and told her she could talk after she took her temp. HA! She was in a little discomfort and had that pain button glued to her hand but she has absolutely no regrets! (I asked) She's not looking forward to the barium swallow test this morning, but I told her it will be over before she knows it. I met her husband (who I might add is a cutie) and her father. Her mom and sister Amanda were there as well. She is also in the same room that Julie 22 was in and when I told her that, she said that was a good sign. SO Weslyn is doing great! I plan to call today after her swallow test to see how she is doing and will post another update then. Until then......TTFN (ta ta for now) Lisa Engelkins

Okay, so I had a blond moment and hit OKAY too soon so that's why there is a post with my name but no comment. OOPS! GIRL GIRL GIRL! It is coming down to the wire!!! By this time Tuesday you will be a LOSER!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it! OH MY GOD! Let's see, by this time you'll be getting good and comfortable and falling off to sleep just as the nurse comes in to check your temp, blood pressure and oxygen levels. HA! You'll be pushing that pain button every so often hoping it takes you to LaLa land. HA! But it is so nice and quiet in the Sticht Center. It is the best place to actually get some peace and quiet. Even during the day time the halls are not loud and noisy like in the regular part of the hospital. You got your bag packed? Got your fan? Don't forget your toothbrush. :0) I can't wait. I am so excited for you! Fuzz is a wonderful Doc, he'll take good care of you. You just let him know that I'll kick his butt if he ain't good to you. And remember, if you want to see or hear his voice before they put you completely under, say so when they start prepping you. You have that right girl. I wanted to know he was there. Let me know if there is anything I can do! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
