When I eat more I lose

Is this my imagination, it seems like when I eat more like fatty foods ie:pizza, melted cheese toast,etc I seem to lose weight but when I don't seem to have an appetit and only drink my protein and maybe a salad for dinner I don't seem to drop a pound, I always thought that taken in less calories make you lose weight. Please give me some advice, RNY 3 1/2 mos post- op 65 pounds lost. Thank you
