Is this dumping?

I spent last night sicker than the proverbial dog, and I don't know why. I started feeling squiffy about 7:00 p.m., and felt miserable 'til about 9:00 a.m. I felt nauseated, gaseous, hot-and-cold, feverish and dizzy and had lower back pain. This sounds like descriptions of dumping I've read, but (a) I didn't think dumping lasted for over 12 hours, and (b) I ate not one particle of sugar yesterday, except what was already in the foods themselves. I can tell you exactly what I ate yesterday: a protein shake, a handful of peanuts, some string cheese and a couple of crackers, another handful of peanuts, and two barbecued ribs. There was probably a small amount of sugar in the barbecue sauce, but I was starting to feel bad even before I ate the ribs. My question is: what happened? Can dumping really last for 14 hours? My surgeon says one doesn't dump from excess fat, but I know a lot of people here disagree.
