How much does timing of protein consumption matter?

Hey all -- I have two questions regarding protein shakes. I don't know if either matters, but I thought I'd throw them out there. 1. How long between protein shakes should you wait? I know we can only absorb 30 g. of protein at a time...but what if you wait an hour between? Just curious. 2. Should I drink my protein shake before or after working out? Does it matter? Thanks in advance...
