I'M PART OF THE FAMILY -- SOMEBODY TELL ME, HOW DOES ONE...

I know how to get color for, text and for the background on my profile page. But, explain how does one get all that other jazzy stuff, like: a pictured back ground(ex: water waves, flowers etc.); change the text style and make the text bigger; cartoons and all other cute stuff(Is there a fee for this? -- cause I'm POOR!). I've even seen the things, I mentioned on the message board -- how do you get that. Please answer in detail. Oh! can I do them all, myself, or I have to get someone to do it for me.
