I am one week post-op & still in extream pain?

I am one week post-op & I not onlt have pain when I move but it is extreamly bad around the sites & sometimes feels like someone is burning me. also I have extream pain whenever I take a deep breath or swallow anything including just water. It feel like something is stuck in my chest. It is quite painfull I was just wondering if this is normal & is there something I can do besides pian meds to help releave it? Thank you, Jen
