How do I deal with this?

My doctor said I was an excellent candidate for WLS. When I told my wife this, she broke down in tears. She doesn't want me to have surgery. I am going to try dieting again, but after years of trying dieting I know what the results will be. I would never want to upset her, she means the world to me. Chuck
