can you take your vitiamins in pill form?

I alreay went out and bought some of the vitamins I need for post op but what I want to know is can they be in pill form or do you have to crush them in the begining, or do you need to buy liquid vitamins? I havent picked up the Iron yet what is the best kind for that i see all different ones???
