How do you get the surgical/dressing tape goo to come off??!?!

Hi all! First off, I am very excited to announce - I am a post op! I never thought I'd say that. I had a proximal RNY on monday 9/22/03. Lots going on with me of course, but basically the operation went well and I have had no major complications yet. The only one I have so far is that I can't take the goo from the surgical tape/dressings off my skin,LOL!!! I had a lot on my hands and arms from IVS, A-Line dressing. I tried soap, I tried oil, I tried lotion, I tried a salt scrub, I tried alcohol, I tried a pumice stone. Eventually I filed it off with a foot file - but OUCH, I got abrasions that HURT. Tee hee, for a few hours they hurt worse than my incisions - which are feeling pretty good BTW. I still have a lot of tape goo on my belly over the incisions. Any ideas how to make it come off? The steri strips are slowly unravelling, and I've lost a few, and they don't leave too much of a mess, but still have more goo! Any thoughts would be apppreciated. Thanks!
