May be a silly question, but it's concerning revisions...

I've seen numerous posts about people getting revisions from vbg's to rny's due to staple line disruption or whatever. Has anyone out there at all ever had the vbg just "fixed" if it failed? Can a person have the same surgery twice? If the surgery was good for a long period of time, then something happens, why can't the stomach just be re-stapled? Is it not safe? Or is it that people just want a more trustworthy method the second time around? Just wondering!
