Can your stomach shrink again and can you get your dumping syndrome back?

Almost immediately after my surgery in Aug 2002, my husband and I lost our jobs, and have been living on 20% of our usual income. That included a very starchy diet, because that diet is less expensive than a high protein diet. Thankfully, I have found a fabulous job and our lives are back on track. My diet isn't. In the meantime, I experienced the rapid weight loss, almost without having to think about it. I lost 85 pounds of the 105 I had to lose. However, I have regained about 30 lbs, and am able to eat a whole sandwich at one time (just one, thank goodness!) I have also lost the dumping syndrome that kept me in line (it took a lot of perseverance to lose it!) I want it back! Is this possible? I know the Atkins diet is quite a bit like the diet we are supposed to follow, and I can now afford it, but will those two tools come back? I would be grateful for any info. Thanks, Stephanie in Utah
