My surgeon's diet seems strict, what everyone else's like?

I am post op 2 weeks and can only have liquids and protein supplements (shakes) until my 4 week post op visit with the surgeon. I would really like to eat something!!! Are there other plans that are not as strict as mine, and has anyone had trouble?
