Need quick reponce..blood clots

Can someone tell me how long after surgery a person is susceptable to blood clots. My aunt had surgery 2/7 and is now in the hospital with a blood clot in her lung. I had surgery 3/7 and Im concerned. I had heparin, ted hose and compression stockings while in the hospital and dont know if she id or not. HELP
