Question:
Recently bought a George Foreman grill and would like some ideas?

If you have one can you share your favorite thing to cook on it? Also anyone have a good punkin' pie recipe that is safe for us and tastes good too? Thanks! — Staci P. (posted on November 9, 2001)

pierce boneless chicken breast multiple times with fork, marinate in part pineapple juice (unsweetened,I buy a can of rings )and low sodium soy sauce and fresh garlic or garlic podwer opt. Spray with non-stick cooking spray if you like. The longer it stays in, the better. You can use Teriaki sauce in place of soy, but you have to watch the sugar content. I also grill my pineapple when the chicken is done.

I've had my grill for 2 years and use it at least 5 times a week. I no longer grill my kids cheese sandwiches on the stove with margerine, I just do it plain, it browns nice and they eat it with a bowl of soup. They also love it when I make french toast for them, again, grilled with no fats.
I haven't used my oven since I got it for meats and I've even done chicken balls on it as well as grilled veggies and meat for fajitas. One if my favs now is to take extra firm tofu, grate it into a bowl, add various seasonings to taste, an egg, and some oatmeal for binding and grill my own burgers. After they are all done I just freeze them on wax paper covered cookie trays and put into ziplock bags when done and it's easy to take out a burger or two and zap them for a meal.
Don't think it's a limited tool because it's not....almost anything you can do on the stove or oven can be foreman'ed for a reduced fat and tasty meal. :o) Have fun.

I love my grill! My favorite thing to do is grill veggies. When they are in season, I grill up zucchini, portabello mushrooms, red peppers, and even carrots! I just sprinkle them with a little onion and salt and pepper and they come out so delicious! Also, I know this sounds weird but I spread a little mustard on a chicken breast and it comes out delicious. A turkey burger is great, I mix the meat with some worcestershire and onion pwder, great flavor. Also salmon and shrimp with soy sauce. You can make everything you want to, there is no fat and it comes out so juicy. I do spray a bit of Pam so it doesn't stick though. Have fun.

Sorry I don't have any grilling suggestions---but I *do* have a related question---is the George Foreman grill easy to clean? Last year I bought a countertop grill (electric) that is such a pain in the tail to clean that I've put it away and hardly use it. I love to grill things...but cleanup has to be easy. Thanks

Clean up is extremely easy. The grill is slanted and all I do is take a wet cloth after I've removed the food and sort of squeeze the water on it and wipe lightly and it comes right off and into the drain tray. If I'm in a hurry and don't bother to do this it's just as easy later to clean as it's non stick. This is one product that is not a waste of money and it sure won't sit on your counter or in a cupboard!
