Question:
Anyone have Cigna PPO and get approved for a tummy tuck?

What is the criteria for getting approval from Cigna PPO for a tummy tuck? I'm looking into possibly having a tummy tuck. Would a tummy tuck be fine for me? I have very poor muscles in the abdominal area due to 2 pregnancies and carrying the babies high. Neither ever dropped and I have always had a belly. My back hurts a lot (lower back) and I sweat bad in that area. I could also be about 2 sizes smaller if I didn't have the pouch. Crunches and sit ups never helped me. I've never had a "flat" belly. Thanks in advance.    — Cinna G. (posted on August 30, 2002)

I was initially denied by my insurance company (National Elevator). These are the things that finally got me approved. 1. Letter from family doctor stating that he has treated you for rashes. 2. Letter from a psychiatrist saying that this is distressing and is contributing to depression. 3. Letter from the plastic surgeon stating all your problems (rashes, backaches, sexual disfunction, etc.) 4. Letter from you with an emotional plea. 5. Pictures of panni from several angles. Try to get pictures of rashes. One visual I did was a picture of my panni with a ruler wedged in it to show how many inches it overlapped.
