Question:
What are Non-Impact Carbs?

I've found some protein bars that show total carbs of 14, but list 12 of them being non-impact carbs, for a net total of only 2 carbs. Is this for real? All I can find out is that these "non-impact carbs" do not affect insulin production. What's the real deal?    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on November 4, 2002)

These are carbs from glycerine (I think that's the name of it) and it's a sweetener made from sugar alcohols. You don't have to count those. Also any carbs that have fiber can be subtracted - so if it has 4grams glycerine, 10 fiber grams, and 20 carbs total - your net carb intake is actually only 6 carbs. Make sense?
