Question:
I just ordered a bridesmaid dress and am concerned

I fit into a tight 12 (I was so excited that I was one of the girls who actually got to TRY ON the dresses!). I am having a lower body lift and full abdominoplasty next week. The wedding is not until October and I'd like to lose another 5-10 pounds after my PS, from which my doc expects to take off 10-15. Here's my question...I told the lady at the store my story, and estimated I would drop two sizes. I am really not into paying an arm and a leg for alterations. Do you think I actually will drop 2 sizes? Maybe I should have ordered a 12?? Has anyone here had similar plastic surgery as me? Can you tell me if you dropped any sizes? I'll be mortified if I can't fit into this dress! :) Thanks for your help!!    — PaulaM (posted on January 16, 2003)

I didn't have a lower body lift but I did have a full abdominoplasty. About 5 weeks post-op, I had dropped 2 sizes on the lower half of my body.

Alterations are not that expensive if you get them done out side of where you bought the dress. Check around for a taloring shop. You do want to lok great for this wedding, since you are a playing a co-starring roll; )

Paula, remember, alterations can easily make a dress smaller, but they can't make it bigger. I bet you will drop 2 sizes before October, but if you are really worried about it, maybe you should order a dress 1 size smaller and relax, knowing that you could always alter it to fit. You don't want to be thinking about this from now until then.
