Question:
Why is B 12 too high?

I just had my 7 month blood work done, and my B 12 was 2000.It should not be over 911.I take the pill you put under your tongue daily. What could cause me to have such a high B 12? Should i be concerned? The doctor didn't explain anything to me,he just said to stop it for about a month.    — Lora B. (posted on February 7, 2003)

Yes, what they said. And that day isn't forever. It can drop fairly quickly, too. Just be sure you're getting frequent labs run to keep an eye on it. Mine went from 2000 to 400 in 6 months.

I had my labs done recently and my b12 was 1200. My MD told me that b12 is a water soluble vit and whatever your body does not need will be secreted in your urine. He asked if I had taken my sublinqual rcently. Since it is the favorite of my pills to take (I wish calcium were so easy :) ) I sometimes take it more than needed.
