Question:
Ate Sugar, shortly I felt like all my energy had all of a sudden drained , is this dumping?
I'm 2 months post op and have avoided sugar the whole time until today. I made some pumpkin bars and decided to have a very small bite size piece..well I didnt get sick but a few minutes later I felt like all my energy had drained and I felt soooooo tired! No energy left whatsoever..this happen to anyone else? maybe this is how my body dumps? — christine S. (posted on March 15, 2003)

That is my classic symptom following any foods high in sugar. Everyone has
thier own version of dumping and you will find that every episode of
dumping may not be the same as the last reaction. Good Luck

Sounds like classic early dumping syndrome....trust me, it can get a lot
worse! Try baking with Splenda, fructose or turbinado sugar when you need
a treat. See my profile page or website at
www.freewebs.com/recipes-after-rny for sample recipes, photos, and book
ordering information. Good luck to you!

Thats dumping to me, I call it "the sleepies". I have never hot
the hot, seaty, nauseous type.

If I bake something (like my favorite, Chesecake) I substitute Splenda for
the sugar. That way I can enjoy it and not suffer. ;)
