I encountered the same thing. I lost heavily for the first 8 weeks, but from 8 - 10 I only lost about 2 pounds. I spoke to the nutritionist (Emily) at the nutrition support meeting at Cleveland Clinic and she assured me this was normal. Other people who are several months to a year out from surgery assured me that this is normal and that the weight will come off, just not as quickly as it did in the first few weeks and months.

This is completely normal. Your body is just adjusting to all the changes it is going through and took a breather. Your weightloss will start again. Plateaus come with the territory, if you know what I mean, they will pass.l I wouldn't sweat it when you hit one. I would be willing to bet that you are not going to be the VERY FIRST PERSON that this surgery HASN'T worked on. Just stick to your program and you will be fine. Open RNY 11-11-02 down 140lbs

Even with the plateaus, 36lbs. in 9 weeks is excellent! I had a plateau about every 3 weeks. And I still managed to get to my goal within a year. So don't get too frustrated, after a while, you get used to it, which is what your body is doing- getting used to the surgery and less food, etc. Goodluck to you!
