I started out 5'3" and 243. At 6 weeks, I had lost 30 lbs., at 3 months: 46 lbs, at 6 months: 65 lbs., and now at 8 months, I have lost 80 lbs. It is slower for us "lightweights" (don't you just love that word), but it does all come off in the end. open rny proximal, Sept. 17, 2002 243/163/140

My weight the day of surgery 01/28/03 was 245 lbs. At 10 weeks I had lost 53 lbs and now at 16 weeks I am down 76 lbs. I have been exercising an hour a day since I was 2 weeks post-op and I really do think that is the main reason I have lost so fast.

I am 5'2" and weighed 255 on 3/20/03 - I now weight 213...so, 42 lbs in about 9 weeks! Best of luck to you - you are really doing great!

Hi! We're almost alike :). I'm 5'2", and I've lost 105lbs. I guess I'm still a "lightweight". You can check out my profile if you'd like.

I'm 5 foot tall and weighed 220 lbs as of March 31st (day of surgery). It's been 8 weeks as of yesterday and I have lost 35 lbs. I think that is pretty similar to your stats. I am losing very slow...the majority of what I've lost was at the very beginning. I used to be one of those people who gained 5-10 lbs right before her period; however I would never lose it once I started. So, I would have to diet right after my period just to lose the extra 5-10 lbs I had gained. I've noticed recently, that I no longer gain the 5-10 lbs before my period, but I also do not lose any weight during the entire time. I'll probably be right where you are at when I'm 10 weeks out. I wish you much luck and happiness. Smile...you are doing great...losing slower puts less stress on your heart. Don't get me wrong, I would also love to lose my weight quicker (wink), but I'll just be happy that I am losing and not gaining. (hugs)

I started at 231. Surgery on 4/15/03...and currently weigh 195.5..so that's 35 lbs in six weeks. Looks like we are all right on target! =)
