Question:
any support groups in NYC?

My friend is a little over 1 year out. she didnt have her surgery in NYC, as she is new to the area. She is looking for a support group. Are there any that are near here she is on the east side? here is her email address [email protected]. I just ask that you put support group in the heading. There is a support group of terrific people at Lenox Hill Hospital. It is run by the Drs. who operate there. If you look on the site, www.nomoreobesity.com, the schedule and location is listed. The group for RNY people meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month, at 6 PM for 90 minutes. Hope your friend comes!!

My friend didnt have surgery in NYC. She had it in upstate Ny. Will she still be able to attend?

I concur with Ann (AG), I attend Lenox Hill also. 3rd Thursday of Every Month from 6-8pm in the Achelis Board Room or the Projection Room. Roughly 50-100 people each time. Its a great bunch of people, all ages, 20-60, male and female. Its free too.

I really am not totally sure, but I seem to remember a few people who came to the group who did not have their surgery at Lenox Hill. Tell her to come once and ask the Dr. afterwards. It can't hurt.
